as the renowned F.E. Trimbach. Don’t miss this rare opportunity to
experience firsthand the allure of Alsace and its finest wines! Join
Jean Trimbach, a member of the 12th generation at the helm of this
family wine estate, as he presents eight extraordinary examples
Trimbach’s most coveted wines. After a palate-enticing glass of Riesling

A Master Class in White Burgundy by Alex Gambal and his wines from 2008
Why is White Burgundy not simply chardonnay? Why can such a grape either
be simplistic or take on levels of complexity unimagined? Why does
Chardonnay reach its highest level in Burgundy and why does it sometimes
fail? What makes it the easiest (and most popular) of grapes to grow
but so difficult to be nuanced and not boring? Why is it that many say
"I do not like chardonnay" but love White Burgundy? What does "terroir"
really mean and why it is not a term just for the soil but is an idea
for the uniqueness of place with the grape a merely a mirror of its
environment and the growing season?
Please join us and explore these questions as we taste six of Alex Gambal's White Burgundies from 2008. Alex will discuss his winemaking style but most importantly he will detail the differences in each wine's "terroir" or character that has been debated before the monks settled in Burgundy 1000 years ago.

Winebow Presents Iconic Wines from Italy
Leonardo LoCascio, founder of Winebow, and one of the foremost experts on Italian wine, provides an unprecedented inside look into what makes a wine “iconic” while sharing with you six of the most celebrated and highly regarded wines from Italy. Very simply defined, an icon is an object of uncritical devotion, something that becomes an emblem, something that is idolized. In the wine world, an icon is a wine that sets the standard that others want to follow. In this seminar, Mr. LoCascio will present some of Italy’s standard bearers—wines that are sought out annually by top-notch restaurants and wine shops nationwide.
Leonardo LoCascio has been selecting wines for his portfolio with the same care and dedication for the past 30 years. He makes frequent trips to Italy as part of this meticulous selection process to focus on family-owned wineries that deliver the essence of Italy. Along the way he has earned a reputation for uncovering the best wines of Italy, often discovering hidden gems that he shares with wine connoisseurs in the states. Mr. LoCascio has earned nearly every accolade imaginable from wine writers and has been recognized by business organizations around the country as a brilliant entrepreneur and a humble civic leader. Winebow was named Importer of the Year in 2009 by Wine Enthusiast magazine and Mr. LoCascio has been cited for his excellence in and his influence on the wine industry in The Wine Advocate, The Quarterly Review of Wines, and Wine Business Monthly, to name a few. He has been honored with awards by Ernst & Young, The Italian Trade Commission, and The National Italian American Foundation for his professional contributions to the American marketplace.
The wines chosen for today’s tasting represent a selection of icons of the Italian wine world. The tasting tour will begin on the windswept, exotic island of Sardinia, followed by a stop on the unspoiled, magical coast of Tuscany. The journey continues with an in-depth look at the concentrated wines from the hillsides of historic Mt. Vesuvius and ends in Verona—the fabled city of star-crossed lovers Romeo and Juliet. Join us for this exceptional opportunity to taste with and learn from one of the world’s leading authorities on Italian wine.
