Celebrity Cruises presents A Taste of Modern Luxury with Jacques Van Staden

Whether you call them bartenders, mixologists, alchemists, bar chefs or chemists, today’s cutting-edge cocktail creators are doing things with spirits that were never dreamed of just a decade ago.
The Liquid Chef, Junior Merino, will showcase techniques used at The Molecular Bar such as liquid nitrogen, foams, airs, flavor building and spherification.
Drink demos and tastings will include: Black Mamba with Glenlivit Single Malt Whiskey infused with five spices, muddled orange, ginger, basil and elderflower liqueur garnished with crystallized ginger. Coming Up Roses, Junior Merino's signature cocktail and a favorite of guests consists of muddled rose petals, lime, rose essence, Perrier-Jouet champagne, and raspberry rum topped with fresh berries and puffs of rose foam.
These unique concoctions-- some flowery, some spicy—are paired with small plates from Celebrity’s specialty restaurants: Qsine, Blu, Murano, Tuscan Grille, Bistro on Five, The Moonlight Sonata, Cellar Masters and The Molecular Bar. Guests will sample signature plates created by Celebrity's James Beard-nominated Master Chef Jacques Van Staden.
