The World's Greatest Sweet Wines
February 24, 2012 (Fri)
from 7:30 PM - 9:30 PM
Signal Hill, CA
Cost: $35
Event ID #403372
Sweet wine is an indulgence many of us overlook because some think them unsophisticated. That is sad, because they can add much richness to our lives. For centuries, the great sweet wines of the world have been the most prized and most sought after by Europe’s nobility and its wealthy. Hungarian Tokaji Azsu was a favorite of the czars, the Hapsburgs loved the late-harvest Rieslings of the Rheingau, the British monarchy was wild about Canary Island Muscat and Porto, Thomas Jefferson’s favorite wine was Sauternes and our founding fathers toasted their important achievements with Madeira. Tonight, owner Randy Kemner leads a delicious tasting of some of the most celebrated and classic sweet wines from Italy, France, Hungary, Madeira, Portugal and Germany. SEATING LIMITED—RESERVATIONS REQUIRED
