Francesca’s al Lago is hosting a beer dinner featuring beers from Vintage Brewery paired with food selections by Chef di Cuisine Sergio Lopez. Brewmaster Scott Manning will be in attendance to speak about the beers and how they pair with Francesca’s meal. This five-course meal is $48 per person, excluding tax and gratuity. Reservations are required.
The meal starts with Insalata di Melograno, watercress, pomegranate seeds, toasted pecans and bleu cheese tossed with pomegranate vinaigrette paired with Sister Golden, a German Kolsch. This is followed by Crostini di Zucchini Pomodorini, garlic toast topped with sundried tomato pesto, grilled zucchini and goat cheese. This makes an excellent partner for a Woodshed IPA. The third course is Cappellacci di Aragosta, lobster-filled pasta sautéed with roasted cherry tomatoes in a saffron cream sauce, which is paired Weiss-Blau Weissbier, a wheat beer. Costine di Manzo, beer-braised short ribs with carrots, celery, onions and natural au jus makes up the fourth course. It is served with twice-baked mashed potatoes and paired with Alpentraum, a wheat ale. The evening ends with Torta di Cioccolato, a four-layer chocolate cake topped with chocolate ganache, served with espresso crème anglaise and fresh berries. This is an excellent companion for the Scaredy Cat Oatmeal Stout.
