Italy has arguably the richest history of winemaking. More than 3,000 varietals, 450 regions, and 2,000 years of winemaking all conspire to make Italy a fascinating, and sometimes infuriating, source of many of the world’s finest wines. Sure, we’re prejudiced, but we invite you to join us at this walk-around mini grand tasting, hosted by IWM’s knowledgeable sommeliers, and experience for yourself the fantastic range of Italian wines. This tasting will feature tables dedicated to the iconic regions of Italy; sample from each and enjoy Brunello and Chianti from Toscana, Barolo from Piemonte, and treats from Umbria, Friuli, Sicilia--and more, all complemented by meats from our own salumeria and regional cheeses. If you’re an Italian wine novice, this tasting is an excellent introduction, and if you’re an Italian wine connoisseur, it’s a celebration. Either way, it’s all Italian vino, and it’s all buonissimo.
