The "Introduction To Wine Tasting" workshop caters to those who have discovered a passion for wine, but find themselves lacking in knowledge on the subject and want to learn the basic fundamentals of wine tasting and grape varieties. Those who have some knowledge in wine will also find it interesting, as details on 8 noble wine varieties are discussed in detail! The introduction of the "Systematic Approach To Tasting", a wine analysis system used by wine professionals around the world in wine judging, will also be introduced and used as we taste each wine!

Join David Calado, Global Wine Tour's Wine Education Director, as he takes you on a 3.5 hour tasting workshop, teaching you the fundamentals of tasting, and what to look for in a quality wine. We will provide a tasting flight of 8 different wines, and as you are tasting each one, you will be treated to a visual presentation, where you will learn about the noble grape varieties, and how climate, geography and wine styles impact the wine being tasted.

You will learn how to taste wine on the basic level, and how acidity, oak, tannins, colour, fruit flavours and other components impact the wine and its finished quality. You will understand what to look for in a quality wine, and you will learn the lingo to better communicate your wine tastes to others.

This workshop will begin at 7PM and will conclude at approximately 10:30PM, and includes:

*A flight of 8 different wines

*A small sampling of deli meats and cheeses to better learn how wine and food interact

*A projected presentation

*Tasting sheets and other printed material

*And a lifetime of wine knowledge

This session will be limited to 15 participants and will be held at the private tasting room at The Fine Wine Reserve, allowing for a distraction free evening. The Fine Wine Reserve is a 144,000 bottle capacity private wine storage facility located in downtown Toronto.
