Spain has over 70 wine regions, and has more vineyards planted to land than any other country in the world. Portugal offers a UNESCO World Heritage site. The Iberian Peninsula is experiencing a wine revolution that no other wine countries have experienced in history. Now is the time to start exploring Spanish and Portuguese wine, and learning what it is all about and reaping the reward. This course will treat you with samples from Spain’s Rioja, Ribera del Duero, Jerez, Riax Baixas, Penedes, and Portugal’s Duoro, plus Madeira! David will offer cultural color, storytelling and sensory information as you journey through the tastes and the unique qualities of seven Iberian wines. You’ll leave with a list of locally-available wines and restaurants to try, and be treated to a short slide-show of places to see in each country!
