While this tasting's emphasis is on education ThirtyFifty's roots are in presenting fun, interactive wine tastings. Find out about your own taste preferences and how food & wine work together as you taste 18 and enjoy a 3 course lunch.
The day is from 10.30am - 4.30pm with a delicious 3 course food & wine matching lunch from 12.30pm-1.30pm. We kick off with an introduction on how to taste wine and taste 18 great quality wines from around the world including whites, reds, fizz and dessert wines.
Course content:
- How to taste wine like a professional!
- What to look for in wine and how the key components - tannins, acidity, sugar, alcohol - are key for matching wine with food.
- Find out how you, uniquely, taste food & wine and learn how to find wines that you are most likely to like.
- Know what food and nibbles to serve to improve how wines taste!
- General guidelines for selecting wines to match a range of foods.
- Tips for ordering wine at restaurants and making the most of your sommelier.
- How to spot, and even fix, common wine faults.
- How different wine glass shapes change the way wine tastes and how to drink better wine without spending more!
