Here’s your chance to get your hands purple!  Curds and Wine will be hosting an exclusive, intensive Grapes to Glass Hands-on Winemaking course.  This is not a custom crush, you will make your own wine from grapes you harvest and our gold-medal winning winemaker will lead you through the process.  This class will be limited to 8 winemakers total; please remember only class members (winemakers and team members) are allowed to attend the events.  The class will consist of 7 classes total; four classes will be on Sunday evenings at Curds and Wine, the other two classes will be vineyard visits in Fallbrook.  The following criteria apply to participation in the class:

  • All participants must be 21 years of age or older
  • All participants must sign liability waiver
  • Participants must make own arrangements for transportation to vineyard visits
  • Class fee includes snacks and refreshments at seminars and  picnics at Vineyard Visits, handouts, and 10% discount card for all purchases at Curds and Wine for one year (excludes Vinmetrica products and future class ticket purchases; discounts cannot be combined)


This Hands-on intensive series of classes that goes through basics of winemaking from grapes to bottle

  • Classes range 2 – 4 hours in length
  • Maximum 8 winemakers, each winemaker can add up to 3 team members (due at first class, please contact us to reserve their spaces)
  • Set of 7 classes, must sign up for package; $600/winemaker total, $200 non-refundable deposit to reserve your space and balance of $400 due at first class
  • Add up to 3 team members to help make your wine $100/person
  • Includes making your own wine from 100 lbs Syrah or Zinfandel hand-harvested from local Fallbrook vineyards on site at Curds and Wine, all equipment, ingredients, testing, and bottling (including personalized labels) plus seminar series ($650 value in supplies alone!)
  • Approximately 2 to 2 1/2 cases of either Zinfandel/Primitivo or Syrah produced in class, including personalized labels, bottles & corks
  • No refunds if any classes missed


Series of 7 classes, choice of 3 dates per seminar but only one date for each Vineyard Visit and  Harvest (note: Syrah and Primitivo/Zinfandel harvests are different dates):


Class One, Preparation for harvest and fermentation, 6 - 8:30 pm

Choice of dates:Sunday 6/10/12, Sunday 6/17/12, or Sunday 6/24/12

Class Two, Finishing fermentations and pressing, 6 - 8:30 pm
Choice of dates:Sunday 7/8/12, Sunday 7/15/12, or Sunday 7/22/12

Class Three, Aging, Fining, and more Aging, 6 - 8:30 pm
Sunday 8/5/12, Sunday 8/12/12, or Sunday 8/19/12
