** First Of Our Three Part Series - GREAT CABERNETS **
Join Winemaker Thomas Nye and noted Sommelier George Staikos at The Grape Escape on February 1, 2012 at 6:30 PM. The lastin a series of wine education tastings, we will explore Great Cabernet Sauvignons from around the world. Six Cabernet Sauvignon wines have been specifically chosen by George Staikos for the tasting. Using his years of experience working for some of the finest wineries in the world (including my favorite, Quintessa), Mr. Staikos will hand select the six Cabernet Sauvignons.
The new Wine Education Series at The Grape Escape is a great way to learn more about regions, specific varietals and to take the mystery out of wine knowledge. You will learn the following:
-
Understand and taste the differences of the main white and red grape varieties.
-
Learn to identify the subtle differences between viticultural areas of the world.
-
Select wines with more confidence and understanding.
-
Learn how to confidently pair wine and food.
-
Discover great values from each of the countries featured
The second workshop in the three part wine education series will be Spanish Wines on Nov. 12, while the final workshop will be South American Wines on January 14, 2012. If you would like to purchase tickets for all three events, please call The Grape Escape for our discounted pricing, 609-409-9463.
Along with the Cabernets from around the world, we will be serving gourmet cheese matched with the wines. The cost is $85 a person or $160 for a couple.
The Grape Escape is a working winery that invites you to participate in the winemaking process. You crush, press, bottle and custom label your own wine. In the Spring, we import grapes from Chile and Argentina while in the Fall we ship grapes from Napa, Sonoma and Amador. Come see what everyone is talking about!
