Come taste a fewsuper-sexy Italian wines that Francis calls "Rock Star" wines.  Vaona's Amarone della Valpolicella Classico 2006 is one.  Deep, rich, with a concentrated core of dried black fruit, mocha and sweet spice, this classic Veneto's status can't be denied.  An amazing way to cap off a meal - and an elegant gift bottle.  Not only this, but San Giovanni's 2010 Chiaretto Rose is the kind of wine that can make a summer.  I wasn't looking for a new Rose, but Francis poured this for me this week, and I just couldn't resist.  A blend of Gropello, Marzemino, Barbera, Sangiovese, Valtenesi and Garda grapes from the Lombardian shores of Lake Garda, this wine's soft salmon color, perfectly toned fruit and remarkable burst of acidity create a dazzling combination.  Francis tells me we're the only wine store in the City that's taken the leap - but that won't last.  Come try this stunner!
