Historically, La Paulée was a widespread Burgundian celebration held at the end of the grape harvest. Over the years, La Paulée has changed a bit from the original communal banquet for growers and their workers to a party celebrating the harvest and great wines.
A special feature of
La Paulée is that everyone brings wine. At Gather, for this event, the
wines will be provided by local wineries in addition to the wines
brought by attendees. Saucelito
Canyon, Laetitia, Carlson, Talley Vineyards, De Paola, Luminesc and Phantom Rivers will be amongst the
wineries showcased and representing the Arroyo Grande Region. A friendly
but intense competition reigns as bottles are uncorked, shared and
imbibed. Anyone who appreciates fine eating and drinking should try to
attend this event, which captures the essence of Burgundy's joie de
vivre, Village of Arroyo Grande style.
