Want to learn to make wine or brush up on basic winemaking skills? Join us at Sacramento Home Winemakers (SHW) for Winemaking 101. SHW is a non-profit club promoting the science and art of home winemaking.
We'll cover the basics to help you get started: sourcing grapes, equipment, yeast and chemicals, and the steps for making dry (vs. sweet) white and red wines. We'll also be sharing tips and techniques on the varietals selected for SHW's Club Project (group crush). This year's class is located in Loomis. You don't have to be a SHW member to attend. For additional information, please contact Jim Cota at jim.cota@loscota.net or Gin Yang at ginyangstaehlin@yahoo.com or 916 217-0294.
SHW meets on the 3rd Wednesdays of the month at the Turn Verein, 3349 J Street in Sacramento. If you can't make it to WM 101 and want to learn to make wine, come to the SHW meetings. Check out the website's newsletter for additional information.
