Lorimar Vineyards & Winery kicks of their 2010 event schedule  with  a Kansas City BBQ, Wine & Blues event on Saturday, May 1, 2010. The smokers will be in full force all day.  The event runs from  3pm - 8pm. Tickets are $85/ $75 Wine Club,/ $55 for children under 12yrs. 

 The aroma of smokn' good tri tip, ribs and chicken will fill the air as will the sounds of great blue music. Ticket price includes a full-on Kansas City style buffet including traditional salads and side dishes including a tasty fresh fruit cobbler for dessert..  The Lorimar wine bar will be in full swing, giving guests a great opportunity to try the new wines currently available at the Old Town tasting room. Music includes the sounds of one of San Diego's #1 Blues bands, The Backwater Blues Band.  Drummer Tom Stewart has a rich career in jazz and blues playing with such greats as Ike Turner, Tommy Castro and Bruce Hornsby and band members Johnny Viau, John Hunt, Val L'Heuereux, Doc Holliday and Tom Stewart. The band has opened for greats the Fabulous T-birds, John Lee Hooker and Coco Montoya.  

Owner Mark Manfield called Kansas City his home for many years and loves the music vibe and mouthwatering food from the the Kansas City area, "I love to cook and drink great wine while listening to lively music...this is the foundation of our winery's philosophy. This will be one in a series of exciting events that incorporate music, food and wine... all the things I love.
