Join wine writer Dave DeSimone "In The Wine Cellar" at Le Pommier Bistro Français for a fun evening of marvelous Southern Rhône wines matched with a delicious Provençal menufrom Jeremy Carlisle and his culinary team of Executive Chef Gary Borrow and Sous Chef Mike Lefever.
The spotlight will shine on the terrific 2007 vintage, one of the most acclaimed in recent decades throughout the Southern Rhône. The featured wines include:
- Domaine Lafond, Lirac Blanc
- Domaine Grès St. Vincent, Côtes du Rhône Villages -- Signargues
- Domaine du Cayron, Gigondas
- Domaine du Pégaü, Châteauneuf-du-Pape Cuvée Réservée
All the wines come from leading "traditionalist" growers at the top of their game in a memorable vintage. Taste Southern Rhône wines at their very best with complex aromas, pure ripe fruit, vibrant acidity and superb balance.
The menu includes:
- Assorted Hors D'œuvres of Savory Palmiers and Gougères
- 1st course: Poached Snails with Roasted Yellow Bell Pepper, Green Castelvetrano Olives, and Basil
- Main course: Roasted Herb de Provence Crusted Leg of Lamb with Soft Polenta and Lamb Jus
- Cheese course: Brillat Savarin, Tête de Moine, and Époisses
- Dessert: Madeleines and Assorted Pâtes de Fruits and coffee
