The non-profit domestic violence agency, New Hope. Inc., will host a Wine, Cheese & Chocolate Tasting at the elegant and historic Asa Waters Mansion in Millbury on Saturday, April 24, 2010 at 7pm.  The event is a fundraiser to support New Hope’s domestic & sexual violence programs.

 

The event will feature fine wines, savory cheeses and decadent chocolates for attendees to taste.   Sample red, white and dessert wines by Friendly Discount Liquors, as well as artisan cheeses and chocolates by The Citizen, chocolate-dipped fruit by Edible Arrangements, gourmet chocolates, candies and cheeses by local chocolatiers bakeries and cheese shoppes, coffee and pastry by Honey Dew Donuts, and more.

 

Tickets cost $35 prior to the event, $40 at the door.  Admission price includes a souvenir glass for each guest, courtesy of the Verizon Pioneers.  Tickets can be purchased on New Hope’s website at www.new-hope.org, by calling 508-226-4015, or at the following locations:

String chamber music will also be provided by musicians of The Claflin Hill Symphony Orchestra.  All of the senses will be stimulated as guests taste and smell fine wines, artisan cheeses and chocolates, while hearing string selections and viewing the mansion’s period furnishings, elegant chandeliers and fireplaces, rich mahogany doors and oriental carpets.  Guests will circulate between the mansion’s stately Great Room, East Parlor, Rose Room and an adjoining tent on the property’s richly landscaped grounds and manicured lawns.

 

Following the tasting portion of the evening, guests will have the opportunity to bid on auction items such as a 42” Plasma TV or win themed raffle baskets, such as “A Taste of Tuscany,”  “A Taste of Spain”, “A Taste of Russia” and others containing entertaining, martini, wine, cheese, chocolate, tea, golf, jewelry and numerous other themed packages.
