Wine OR Wine & Food

The Golden Nose is a one-of-a-kind competition that allows consumers to award the best wines from the Finger Lakes region. The New York Wine & Culinary Center will host the event on April 17, 2010. Consumers will learn techniques of wine judging from local winemakers, and then award medals during a professionally-run competition. At this year’s event, a special “Riesling Champion” will be crowned by consumer judges.

Golden Nose was previously sponsored by the Seneca Lake Wine Trail and held in Corning, NY in 2006, 2007, and 2008. The event was suspended in 2009. The mission, spirit, and format of the event will stay the same under the management of the Center in 2010. Seneca, Cayuga, Keuka, and Canandaigua Wine Trails will continue to support the event with volunteers.

The weekend consists of: Friday Night Golden Nose Kitchen Social, Golden Nose Judge Package (Friday night’s Golden Nose Kitchen Social; Saturday’s Judge Training, Judging Competition, and Award Reception), and Golden Nose Award Reception.
