The Single Vineyard Wines of Copain
February 9, 2010 (Tue)
from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM
Albany, CA
Cost: $20
Event ID #295869
Wells Guthrie has made quite a name for his fledgling Copain winery in
Healdsburg. Having trained in the methods and traditions of France's
greatest regions, he has brought that sense of place to each of his
single vineyard wines. We know Copain as THE source for elegant, unique
and delicious wines from a variety of sites. These wines never bore or
disappoint and it doesn't hurt that Copain focuses on some of our
favorite grapes - Pinot and Syrah - as well as many of our favorite
Californian cool-climate appellations.
This tasting promises to be a fascinating survey of the emergence of highly distinctive, complex and food-friendly wines from California. Indeed, Copain is leading the way and many other wineries are sure to follow suit as we realize the true potential of the awesome land we live on.
Join us as we welcome Jay Latham, Copain's national sales manager and a gentleman we consider to be one of the most serious students of Pinot Noir and Syrah that we've ever met. He'll present a variety of Copain's wines in current release, along with a selection of rarities and cellared wines. This should be one hell of a tasting. We'll have a light selection of cheeses and charcuterie to complement the wines. Attendees enjoy special discounts on Copain wines presented that evening.
Seating for this event is very limited.
