The first annual Martha's Vineyard California Wine Affair will be taking place the 14th and 15th of May at Atria Restaurant in Edgartown, Martha's Vineyard, MA. The affair consists of a silent auction on the 14th of May benefitting one of our local charities, the Martha's Vineyard Shellfish Group. Check them out at www.mvshellfishgroup.org. This event is open to the public and one and all are invited. That night there will be a King of Cabernets gala dinner hosting. It will be a six course dinner with a “King of Cabernet” paired with each course along with a mystery guest winery. Each course will be created by a local chef from various Vineyard restaurants. The participating wineries for the dinner include: Beringer Private Reserve, Robert Mondavi Private Reserve, Lancaster, Far Niente, Duckhorn and of course the mystery winery. On the 15th there will be a grand tasting with over 50 wineries and their representatives. The wineries representing consist of: Acacia, Austin Hope, Belle Glos, Beringer, BV, Cakebread, Candor, Cannon Ball, Bradford Mountain, Caymus, C. Donatiello, Chalk Hill, Chalone, Chandon, Cliff Lede, Conundrum, Dan Aykroyd, Davis Bynum, De Loach, Duckhorn, Dynamite, Edna Valley, Epiphany, Far Niente, Fess Parker, Foxen, Franciscan, Gary Farrell, Halter Ranch, Healdsburg Ranch, Hess, Jade Mountain, Lancaster, Liberty School, Macrostie, Mer Soleil, Mount Veeder, Newton, Nickel & Nickel, Provenance, Raymond, Robert Mondavi, Rodney Strong, Rombauer, Rosenblum, Roth, Sean Thackery, Sequoia Grove, Simi, Sliver, Spring Mountain, Sterling, Treana, Ventana and Whetstone. The latter two event do require an attendance cost.
