Twin Cities Wine presents: A wine tour of Northern Italy
Join wine educator Jason Kallsen for one of the most popular classes we offer: the wine tour of Northern Italy from Venice to Milan!
This is a fantastic class that was first presented as a featured event in the 2007 Twin Cities Food and Wine Experience, and is one of the most requested classes we offer. We will tour Northern Italy from Venice to Milan, along the way building from Prosecco to Barolo. A comprehensive discussion of visiting Venice starts the evening, including how to experience 'true' Venice and hints on great wine bars that only locals know of. We then continue into the hills of the Veneto, including a discussion of the different styles of Valpolicella. After that we head west to Piedmonte for a comprehensive overview of Barbera, Barbaresco, and Barolo, including tasting some of the best available.
If you've toured Italy before, this class will help you relive great memories. If you have not yet been there, this will whet your appetite and help with your travel dreams. Regardless, a great evening of laughter and wine is guaranteed.
