Wouldn't it be romantic?  To spend Valentine's Weekend enjoying luscious chocolates paired with alluring wines?

Visit all eight Berks County Wine Trail wineries during this event weekend to sample wonderful locally produced wines paired with assorted chocolate-y creations!  No reservations are required & this event is free.  Chocolate & Wine Pairing Weekend is a "self-guided tour" of the Berks County Wine Trail.   You can plan your weekend tour by simply picking out which wineries you'd like to visit and plan your day accordingly (visit the maps or wineries pages of the trail's website).

The Berks County Wine Trail and its participating wineries is located near Reading, just north of Philadelphia and just west of the Lehigh Valley, is sprawled across Pennsylvania countryside.   Not only is this your chance to enjoy Pennsylvania made wines and delicious chocolates and confections -  but it is an opportunity to explore various sights and discover new places that the Berks County countryside has to offer.

Maps & directions are available on throughout our website, plus additional directions are available on each participating winery's own website.  Question?  Just email us:  berks_county_wine_trail@yahoo.com

In the weeks ahead, the complete pairing menu of chocolates and featured wines will be posted here on our site - but to give you a sweet hint of what is to come:

Ready for Wine, Romance and Chocolate? Pinnacle Ridge Winery (Kutztown) will be serving classic French Crepes filled with strawberries, drizzled with decadent bittersweet chocolate sauce and dusted with confectioner's sugar and chocolate shavings. Our homemade crepes will be paired with Pinnacle Ridge's ultra-decadent red wine: Sweet Seduction.

Blair Vineyards (Mertztown) is giving away kisses!  Enjoy Mocha French Kiss, which is a coffee chocolate truffle kiss styled sweet dessert.  Those kissed will enjoy pairing with Blair's amazing Lower Block Pinot Noir.   And get ready to say good-bye to Blair's modest location in Mertztown - they will aim to have their new & spacious location in Kutztown open in April 2010 in time for the wine trail's spring event.

Back by popular demand!!!  Dip into a fountain of chocolate at Bashore & Stoudt Country Winery (Shartlesvile).   Enjoy dipping fresh fruit and baked goodies into a dreamy cascade of melted chocolate and sampling such temptations with featured fruit wines.
