2007 Artist Series # 7 - Selected # 66 on the Seattle Times' list of Top 100 Washington State Wines in 2009
Steve Tanzer Nov/Dec 09
"2007 Champoux Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon - Deep, saturated red. Highly perfumed nose combines brooding black cherry, menthol and dark chocolate aromas, with intriguing lift provided by suggestions of apricot pit and white flowers. Supple, juicy and deep, with very nicely integrated acidity giving shape and lift to the sexy flavors of blueberry, blackberry and violet. Conveys an impression of density without weight. Finishes broad and expansive, with very suave dusty tannins. Classy juice. 91 points."

"All Soos Creek wines are excellent values. Across the board these are wines with wonderful density and concentration, ripely balanced, plummy, mixed red fruits, and elegantly astringent tannins. Larsen gets wonderfully layered, elegant flavors without anything harsh, sharp, or rough. His wines are thoroughly professional, never a hint of volatility or other technical flaws. In short, real winemaking craft is on display here, every detail beautifully rendered, substantial but not out of whack in any way. Soos Creek is one of the great, undervalued, stellar performers in the state." WASHINGTON WINES & WINERIES - THE ESSENTIAL GUIDE, by Paul Gregutt, University of California Press.
