Annual Port & Dessert Wine Tasting!
If you are a fan of Ports, Tokaji, and Ice Wines, this is for you! If you think you don't like sweet wines, you will find one you like! Paired with the appropriate appetizer...as always!
This week we are thrilled to do one of our annual tastings…the ports and dessert wines! Every year we hear from our clients that they look forward to this tasting and we do too. This is the best opportunity to try out dessert wines and we will pair them with cheeses and other fun appetizers for your enjoyment and learning!
This week join us for:
2004 Patricious – 3 Puttonyos “Red Lion” Tokaj – Tokaj, Hungary
This is a very approachable dessert wine, not too sweet and definitely complex. Great with fruit and light cheeses!
NV Khron – “Lagrima” White Port – Portugal
A rare and rich white Port aged for eight years, the Krohn Lagrima offers aromas of core fruits with hints of hazelnuts. We’ll show you how to make a wonderful cocktail with this port!
2001 Weingut Rosenhof – Welshriesling Trockenbeerenauselse – Burgeland, Austria
Don’t worry you don’t have to know how to pronounce this wine to enjoy it! An easy going dessert wine, great with blue-veined cheeses. Not to be confused with the Rhine Rieslings.
Kopke – Fine Ruby Port – Portugal
If you prefer the flavor of berries to that of Chocolate, this port is for you
Warre’s Port – Otima 10 Tawny – Portugal
Full bodied with a long finish that is perfect for those after dinner hours…elegant flavors!
Trinitas – “Revelations” Late Harvest Cuvee – Contra Costa County
A blend of late harvest Mataro (Mourvèdre) and Petite Sirah with delicious bold flavors and a chocolaty finish!
On FRIDAY ONLY:
Kopke – 20-Year Old Tawny Port – Portugal
92 points Wine Enthusiast (8/06) From one of the oldest producer of port in the world. Gorgeous port
