Wine OR Wine & Food Event

Wine OR Wine & Food

Join us for this fascinating insight into some of the most food-friendly wines on the planet. If you thought Riesling was a sweet, insipid German wine you will be amazed at the deliciously dry and zingy Alsace Rieslings and Pinot Gris (French for Pinot Grigio) that are the perfect accompaniment to a wide range of Thai, Chinese, and Asian Cuisine.

If you like Sauvignon Blanc you will love dry Rieslings – same mouth-watering acidity and juicy un-oaked fruit – not an oak chip in sight! German wine is widely misunderstood, and assumed to all be like Liebfraumilch or Piesporter We challenge you not to enjoy some really high quality German Kabinett and Auslese wines which at a refreshing 9-10% alcohol are a welcome change to some of the high alcohol new-world whites.

They make a delicious aperitif and match really well with apple-based desserts like Tarte Tatin. Yes some of them are sweet, but the best are always balanced with a counterfoil of appley, lemony zestiness that cuts the palate like a knife. Wine professionals from all over the world have long been singing the praises of high quality Alsace and German wines – come and find out why!
