"Tuesday Night Bordeaux"
Tuesday, December 1st, 2009
Please
join us after work on December 1st for an informal tasting of wines from one of
the world's most lauded wine regions!
The concept behind "Tuesday Night
Bordeaux" is to dispel the stereotype that good quality Bordeaux is expensive or should be opened
only on special occasions. To illustrate, we'll be pouring around 20 Bordeaux, all of which
retail for under $35 per bottle! These are wines that can be consumed young,
but also have the right stuff for cellaring.
Guests in attendance will have the opportunity to chat about wine with
superstar Bordeaux negociant Jeffrey Davies, one
of the first Americans to graduate from the Institute
of Oenology of Bordeaux, and proprietor of Signature
Selections. There is virtually nothing about wine that Davies doesn't know and
he possesses one of the most elevated palates in the world. Robert Parker says,
"Davies represents a new breed of broker who realizes quality, not historic
classification or pedigree, is most important. He works with small producers
who believe in hand-harvesting and keeping quality high through low yields. .
."
- Robert Parker, May 21, 2007, Businessweek.com
Enjoy tasting through these wines along with a special selection of hors
d'ouevres from acclaimed chef Roland Passot of San Francisco's Michelin-honored
La Folie. Although the setting will be glam, the tasting will be a casual,
walkaround format.
