Pacific
Coast Wine Festival—riding high on the momentum of last year’s second
successful event—returns for the third year with a sensational evening
highlighted by an exclusive wine auction and gourmet dinner. This
year’s event includes a sumptuous dinner, extraordinary wine tastings,
roaming sommeliers, and both a live and silent auction with an enticing
assortment of coveted wines and other auction items, including
one-of-a-kind gifts and experiences. Considered an important
fundraiser, the event’s proceeds benefit Pacific Symphony’s many
artistic and education programs—making the experience perfect not only
for wine enthusiasts and collectors, but also for those who wish to
support the Symphony.
Each year the festival grows in scope and spirit—with last year’s dinner and auction attracting hundreds of guests and netting approximately $125,000 for the Symphony. Chaired for the third year in a row by Symphony board members Mike Kerr and Valerie Van de Zilver, this year’s wine extravaganza is certain to be memorable.
This year’s selection of wines promises to be as bountiful and coveted as ever—including California wines of a wide variety, French wines are also well represented and in great vintages ranging from 1966-2000. Lovers of rare vintage port or great Italian and Australian wines won’t be disappointed, either. Among the tempting wines being offered are Haut Brion, Mouton, Lafite, Petrus, Harlan, Vega Sicilia, Cheval Blanc, Dumol, Harlan, Hundred Acre, Kistler, Lafite Rothschild, Lewelling, Mouton Rothschild, Peter Michael, Petrus, and Vega Sicilia—to name just a few. And for those who are not wine connoisseurs—there are also exceptional dining opportunities, luxury gifts, travel packages and once-in-a-lifetime experiences.
Pacific Symphony, located in Orange County, Calif. and led by Music Director Carl St.Clair, is the largest orchestra formed in the United States in the last 40 years. It is widely recognized as an outstanding ensemble making strides on both the national and international scene, as well as in its own burgeoning cultural community. The Symphony has played a central role in the phenomenal growth of the performing arts in Orange County. Presenting more than 100 concerts a year and a rich array of education and community programs, the Symphony touches more than 275,000 Orange County residents—from school children to senior citizens.
