When Julius Caesar famously declared Veni, Vidi, Vici, "I came, I saw, I conquered" he could have been speaking about Mario Pardini's dream to make phenomenal wines in the Mendoza region of Argentina. We will be tasting 4 delicious wines envisioned by Mr. Pardini who is the Tuscan owner of the Ave winery. The Tuscan winemaker is Iacopo di Bugno and together this ambitious duo is taking the wine world by storm. Their philosphy of wine is to capture the romance and style of Argentina using Argentine varietals to make wine with an Italian sensibility and passion.
These are wines that summer, fall, winter, whatever the season, will pair with a wide range of cuisines.
The wines are:
2008 Ave Torrontes, Mendoza
2008 Ave Malbec Rose
2007 Ave Malbec 90 pts. Wine Spectator
2006 Ave Malbec Gran Riserva
