Join us as we work our way through the legendary Ardbeg family of malts. Ardbeg is a heavy hitter among Islay malts and very peaty and the distillery has been awarded many accolades. Ardbeg Uigeadail has been named World Whisky of the Year in Jim Murray’s Whisky Bible 2009 and their latest release of Corryvreckan is gaining brilliant reviews. Hosted by Ardbegs Brand Representativess, Cory Soutar and Martin Grant , this evening will be entertaining and informative. Our whisky tasting line up is as follows: Ardbeg 10 - the first non-chill filtered whisky in the Ardbeg range Ardbeg Blasda -peated to an average of just 8 parts per million phenol (8ppm) compared to the more usual 24ppm. Blasda is still perfectly balanced, but light, sweet and delicious Ardbeg Uigedail - an earthy whisky with a bit of spice - a marriage of Ardbeg from bourbon barrel and sherry butt which gives a sweet and smokey finish to this malt at 54.2% Ardbeg Corryvreckan - A deep and mysterious Ardbeg, combining French oak cask aged liquid with classic Ardbeg matured in ex-bourbon American oak casks. Predominantly consists of liquid matured in French oak. Join us on St Andrews day, 30th November 2009 to try them for yourself... |
