Wine OR Wine & Food
Drop by between 5pm and 8pm this Tuesday and join us for a complimentary tasting of wines perfect for Thanksgiving. Jon from The Wine Frog will be here pouring these selections:
2008 Saint Laurent Lucky White, Columbia
Valley, Washington
This
versatile dry white wine delivers citrus and melon aromas and flavors
complimented with hints of apricot and white flowers. Our blend pairs well with
seafood, grilled or baked chicken and fresh vegetables. A blend of Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling, and
Chardonnay
2007 Dante Reserve Chardonnay, California
The bouquet of this unoaked Chard displays aromas of white peach
and citrus. The wine is crisp and zesty with a refreshing mouthfeel. This is
100% Chardonnay in its purist form. No oak here, just great wine. Excellent
match for grilled vegetables, shrimp scampi, and steamed crab.
2008 Peter Brum, Vino Noire Dornfelder, Rheinhassen,
Germany
Rich
dark red in color. Velvety smooth with
harmonic fruity aromas, miles of cherries and berries; beautifully light but
well rounded finish. Perfect with all
types of game, any dark meats, and pasta/red sauces. For dessert, try with dark chocolate or
chocolate cheesecake. Best served
lightly chilled. The #1 selling quality
red wine in Germany.
2005 Forchini Proprietor’s
Reserve Zinfandel, Sonoma, California
92
points, Wine Enthusiast
From the winery’s estate vineyard, which dates to the early 1900s and is
dry-farmed, comes this classic Sonoma Zinfandel. It’s bone dry and firm in
tannins, showing rich flavors of blackberries, black currants, mulberries,
licorice, beef jerky, raisins and black pepper. Nice with short ribs and
Mexican-inspired beef dishes.
2006 Anglim Cerise, Paso Robles, California
87 Points, Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate
Cerise is true to its name in flavor and color, exhibiting farmer’s market
cherry and boysenberry, anise, and finishing with a flourish of mango and dried
bay leaf. The Grenache, Syrah, and Mourvèdre all come from the French Camp
Vineyard, whose east-side location and heat create vibrant fruit and pepper,
while retaining good acidity. The splash of Viognier, from the Fralich Vineyard
in Templeton, contributes floral notes on the nose and that hint of mango on
the finish. 39% Mourvedre, 32% Grenache,
25% Syrah, 4% Viognier. Drink now-2011.
2007 Deseado Sweet
Sparkling Torrontes, Patagonia, Argentina
88 Points, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate
Sweet sparkling wine with very small bubbles. To the nose it is fruity, very
elegant, with some flowers, citrus and terpenic aromas. The mouth-feel is sweet
with good acidity and excellent body.
Blue
Mountain Cranberry Hard Cider, Oregon
Created using a fermented "five-apple" blend from apples grown in
the Pacific Northwest, this carbonated cider has a refreshing balanced apple
flavor with a splash of tart cranberry juice. Cranberry lovers will enjoy this. Enjoy this cider with smoked meats such as
venison, turkey, or salmon. Outstanding with smoked gouda and cheddar.
