Domaine de la Janasse is one of our favorite Southern Rhone producers, combining richness and concentration with a true sense of terroir. The reds of this region are an intriguing blend of Grenache, Syrah, Cinsault, Mourvedre, and often a few other grapes thrown in for good measure. Rich, meaty, smoky, and earthy, they're great wines for cooler weather, and with a hearty stew. For this tasting we'll explore a range of Janasse's wines,  comparing different vintages (including the stunning 2007) and quality levels. The wines will be:

• 2007 Cotes du Rhone ($16.95)
• 2006 Cotes du Rhone "Terre d'Argile" ($25.50)
• 2004 Chateauneuf du Pape "Cuvee Chaupin" ($46.95)
• 2007 Chateauneuf du Pape "Cuvee Chaupin" ($84.95)
  

Cost of the tasting is $20. Seatings are at 5, 6, and 7 p.m. RSVPs are required.
