Wine OR Wine & Food

Inky and robust, there’s nothing at all shy about a Petite Sirah and we love them!  Stop by this Tuesday between 5pm and 8pm and join us for a complimentary wine tasting, featuring five bold selections from California:

2008 McManis Petite Sirah
The color of the 2008 Petite Sirah is of concentrated purple, with a youthful bright hue. The nose of the wine is full of ripe Blackberry, Boysenberry aromas, which are accompanied by Mocha and hints of brown sugar. The berry aromas of the nose are also evident in the flavor, when the rich, full bodied wine enters the mouth. Notes of milk chocolate and anise linger, long after swallowing.

2006 Two Angels Petite Sirah, Lake County
The 2006 Two Angels Petite Sirah is 'dark as the night' and boasts savory aromas of dark berry, violets, pomegranate, tamarind and roasted game. Abundant fruit flavors are nicely integrated with toasted oak and roasted coffee undertones. What is especially alluring, given the dark color and ample, rich tannins, is the round - almost silky - mouthfeel and the pleasing, lingering finish.

2007 Petite Petit Petite Sirah, Lodi
Aged 14 months in new French oak, This carnivalistic blend of Petite Sirah (85%) and Petit Verdot (15%) is definitely the star of the show.  Trunk fulls of blueberry, plum, violet, and chalky tannins give a seamless finish to this jumbo sized offering..

2005 Lucas & Lewellen Petite Sirah, Santa Barbara County
Fermented with labor intensive hand punching and barrel aged for 17 months, this wine’s rich blackberry and anise character is complemented by light, toasty oak elements. This Petite Sirah has a big, mouth feel and ripe, smooth tannins. This wine finishes with a silky, warm palate impression.

2006 Bogle Phantom
It has reappeared...  Three distinctive varietals combine lush berry and fierce spice into a wine characterized by its incandescence.  Deeply luscious and succulent blackberries ignite this vintage of our rich ruby apparition.  Aromas of anise and sweet fig are embraced by touches of black pepper.  From the shadowed dark depths, subtle notes of cloves and vanilla emerge and compliment the concentrated fruit characters of this wine.  Petite Sirah 49%, Zinfandel 49%, Mourvedre 2%.
