Beppe CaViola, AKA “The Dolcetto King”, is best know for being a consultant to some of the most legendary estates across Italy. And, as it turns out, he’s a talented winemaker himself. From his own vineyards in Montelupo and Dogliani, Beppe produces Dolcetto, Barbera and Nebbiolo-based wines that beautifully showcase the terroir and fruit expression of the Langhe. Although he still consults for many of Italy’s top wineries, it is here where the passion is bottled. In 2002, Beppe was named Gambero Rosso’s “Winemaker of the Year”, and over the years both his own wines and those on which he consults have won numerous accolades. In 2008 alone he had 39 “Tre Bicchieri” estates, including Vietti, Bruno Rocca, Mauro Veglio, Elvio Cogno, Damilano, Silvio Grasso, Euinadi, Michele Chiarlo, Umani Ronchi, Sella & Mosca and Villa Sparina.
