Washington State wineries are just wrapping up their busy fall of harvest and crush - now it is time for some fun! On Thursday, November 19th from 6:30pm to 9pm, the Grape Cup kicks off: a UW vs WSU Alumni Winemaker Challenge! Winemakers from 24 wineries are ready to go grape to grape to battle it out for bragging rights. Who makes better wines, Husky Alums or Cougars? The Pickering Barn in Issaquah has been reserved for this friendly “tasting competition” along with some tailgate bar-b-que to enjoy! Guests will judge wines from both sides and declare a first year "Grape Cup" winner for what is sure to become the annual wine version of this friendly rivalry. Proceeds for this event will go to support the Washington State Farmworker Housing Trust, a non-profit organization that works to fund safe, affordable housing for farm workers, provide homes for families, help growers and support rural communities across Washington State. Tickets are $35 and available by visiting www.farmworkerhousingtrust.org. Event produced by David LeClaire, Wine Events & Promotions www.vinolover.com, and Seattle Uncorked www.seattleuncorked.com. |
