Featured Wines: Ampelos Cellars Pinot Noir, Lambda Estate 2006 Tasting Notes: Bountiful red fruit dominates the black cherries and the underlying flavor of cola, accented with hints of exotic spice, gingerbread and warm earthiness. This sumptuous extract is smooth and elegant. A very layered wine that is softly framed by fine tannins, this third harvest from the estate vineyard showing the vines are maturing beautifully. A great value. 92 Wine Spectator Drew Family Pinot Noir, Fog-Eater, Anderson Valley 2007 Tasting Notes: A floral punch adds tension to bright flavors of shaved cherry ice and an intense dry-earth complexity. A momentous and cellar-worthy wine from a critically acclaimed producer. Kenneth-Crawford Pinot Noir, Babcock Vineyard 2007 The Babcock fruit is a 50/50 combination of clones 115 and Pommard. The average age of the vines is around 20 years. The wine is aged in 40% new French Oak and only 224 cases were produced. Tasting notes: This wine has a dark, glossy ruby hue. The aroma is filled with bright cherry fruit and an intriguing mix of spice and earth along with a hint of toasty French oak. A medium-bodied wine that is seems sweet on the attack but firms up quickly with a well integrated mixture of tannin and acid. It finishes long and intense, with more cherries and raspberries and a nuance of earthy spice. Toulouse Vineyards Estate Pinot Noir, Anderson Valley, 2006 Tasting Notes: Cassis and black fruit leap from the glass, followed by savory herbs, a little smoke, and earthy notes. The palate is more ripe and red-fruited, with nice concentration, medium+ body and supporting acidity. This wine has substance and richness without being too big or overblown. Well-made and accessible, this could evolve in bottle for a few years. But don't worry if you can't wait - it is delicious now. Loring Pinot Noir, Russell Vineyard, Paso Robles 2007 Brian Loring has quickly become one of the darlings of North American pinot noir production. He produces from several vineyards in California and Oregon and has created a cult following with his densely flavored pinot noirs. Tasting Notes: A bouquet of strawberries, pepper and subtle vanilla announces this fine Pinot. This wine’s structured palate is dry, young, medium bodied, with moderate tannins. Notes of black currant, herbs and leather are pronounced. This wine is young showing great promise for the future. 93 Wine Spectator When: Saturday October November , 2009 Where: Buckhead Wine Storage 3185 Maple Drive Atlanta, GA 30305 Time: 5:00-7:00 PM RSVP: info@buckheadwinestorage.com Buy A Wine Locker for 3 Months Get 1 Month Free!
