Jack of All Tastes
What makes a great wine so? In France, a country producing wines considered some of the greatest in the world (along with California’s Napa Valley), the winemakers refer to a concept they call terroir. This means the place on Earth from where the wine comes. And yet it is much more than just the place. It is the place, the vineyard, the soil, the climate, the weather at that place during the vintage, and this is most important – it is the people on that place who tend the vines, harvest the winegrapes and create the wine. It is they who are an integral part of the terroir.
This week at the Wine Tasting Bar we are exploring, through their wines, the profound influence that some of the most talented winemakers in our state have on our extreme enjoyment of, and relationship with, world-class wine. Come and taste Paul Hobbs, Heidi Peterson Barrett, Sean Capiaux and Robert Foley. The cost for all of the wines is 55.00 – don’t miss them. We’ll see you here. |
