ONE OF PORTUGAL’S MOST CELEBRATED WINEMAKERS TO HOST CAPE TOWN TASTING

An intimate tasting will be held by famed Portuguese winemaker João Nicolau de Almeida of Casa Ramos Pinto on the 10th November in Cape Town.

Ramos Pinto is a firmly established Portuguese wine label which was started in 1880 and, which is strongly associated with top Portuguese wines. In particular the label has become quite well known for the artworks created for its wine labels dating back the beginning of the 20th century.

De Almeida who was named candidate for ‘Best Winemaker of the Year’ by Wine Enthusiast Magazine’s Wine Star Awards will present a selection of seven wines ranging from dry whites through to reds and ports for which the Douro valley is renowned. The tasting which will start at 19h00 will be held at the new restaurant Ultima Tapa in Long Street. Following the tasting, a selection of tapas will be prepared for and served with three of the wines.
