A Taste of Spring
April 24 , 2010
We begin the series of seminars with a "Meet and Greet Continental Breakfast with the Winemaker". After breakfast, you will take a walk into the vineyard where you will "adopt a vine" by selecting and tagging the vine with your name. Winemaker, Craig Larson, will talk about the varietals that we grow at Callaway, the terroir, the grapevine and it's growing cycle, trellising and upcoming treatments that will be done during this phase of the growth cycle. You will attend a wine tasting on the patio and learn specific tasting techniques used to evaluate wines. You will learn how to rate color, clarity, aroma, taste, body and finish of the wines you taste which will include one unfiltered wine and several finished white wines. Take home an aroma wheel, a collection of recipes that pair with Callaway white wines and Certificate of Compeltion.
