Wine OR Wine & Food Event

Wine OR Wine & Food

A Ph.D. in Agricultural Chemistry from the University of California, Dr. Grant's colorful career in wine includes such positions as Winemaster of Beaulieu Vineyards during Napa's early days (1968-1973) - if you've read "House of Mondavi" or have seen "Bottleshock," you'll get the reference! In addition, Dr. Grant worked long-term for The Monterey Vineyard as well as Atlas Peak Vineyards, producing three vintages for Atlas as well as pioneered the largest planting of Sangiovese to date.

In the 1980s, Dr. Grant imported the elusive Wrotham Clone Pinot Noir vine to the U.S. after its discovery in Wrotham, England. The clone was discovered to have been brought to England by the Romans over 2,000 years ago.

Dr. Grant planted the vine and now farms two acres of this unique pinot noir in the Napa Valley.

Dr. Grant will be pouring his famous Wrotham Clone Pinot Noir as well as the 2001 Wrotham Clone Sparkling Wine, Blanc de Noirs.

$15/Tasting, cheese and crackers for participants will be served.
