Wine OR Wine & Food

ake a tour Down Under – no visa required.

Both the largest island and smallest continent on the planet, Australia is home to a vibrant and sophisticated culinary and wine scene. Too vast to do it all justice, we'll focus on the South Australian triad - McLaren Vale, the Barossa Valley and the Claire Valley - a region inhabited by eucalyptus trees, wild fennel and wild olive trees, all of which have influenced the flavours of local food and wines. Facing the penguin infested Antarctic on one side, and one of the world's harshest deserts on the other, South Australian wineries have developed a reputation for boldness and quality.

A big fan of the Australian food & wine scene, Chef/Sommelier Andrea Jefferson has created a fabulous tasting menu for the evening, for which she'll choose regionally expressive wines.

Fresh Oysters with Shallot Verjuice
Sparkling White
Murray River Pink Salt & Black Pepper Squid
Clare Valley Riesling
Poached Prawns, Creamy Sea Urchin Roe Preserved Lemon Mayonnaise
Chardonnay
Smoked Kangaroo Meat Pie, Beetroot and Caramelised Onion Compote
Chardonnay
Quince Jelly Marinated Australian Rack of Lamb Chop with a Basil, Lemon, Eggplant Salad and Barossa Valley Extra Virgin Olive Oil
Shiraz
Passionfruit Pavlova
Moscato

You'll learn about the unique features of the South Australian landscape and wine industry, while Chef demonstrates some of the evening's dishes in the Quince Studio, eventually enjoying this wonderful feast in our candlelit storefront gallery.
