Il Tiramisu Wine Dinner 10/29/09

Please note that our next wine dinner is scheduled for Thursday, October 29, at 7 P.M.  A four course menu will be paired with a wonderful selection of wines from Castello Banfi, located in Tuscany, Italy.  This wine dinner will feature OUR Stimulus/Bailout Price of $50.

Highlights of the menu include a beginning of large raviolo filled with swordfish, vegetables, and mascarpone, pinot grigio sauce.  This is served with the 2008 San Angelo Pinot Grigio.  This wine presents a fruit forward bouquet, with refreshing tastes of pear, bananas and peach.

The second course is beet and spinach salad, duck meatballs, lemon horseradish dressing, and is paired with the 2005 Chianti Classico Riserva.  This wine is has a bouquet of cherries and plums, with deep flavors, and a long finish.

The main course is beef tenderloin over buffalo mozzarella, aged balsamic reduction.  Paired with this is the 2005 Belnero Sangiovese, that has aromas of vanilla and coffee, rich fruit flavors, with hints of cedar and licorice, and is a

soft, well-balanced, classic full bodied sangiovese.

Dessert is flourless chocolate mousse cake, peach and chocolate sauce.  This is served with the Florus Moscadello di Montalcino, made from Moscadello late harvest grapes, and has a flowery bouquet, with sweet tastes of honey, candied citrus, and exotic fruits.

The cost of the event is $50 per person, plus tax and gratuity.  Reservations are required.  Il Tiramisu Ristorante and Bar is located at 13705 Ventura Blvd., in Sherman Oaks, on the northwest corner of Ventura and Woodman.
