Roberto will teach you all about Italy’s great variety of flavors and tastes while utilizing fresh ingredients available at regional farmer and Italian markets.  A special discounted rate is available for guests who purchase both the cooking class and the wine dinner at $250 per person.  The Inn is conveniently located only 2 hours from Washington DC.  If guests would like to stay the night/weekend, room rates are available from $145 to $200 per night.  Address is 288 Settlers Valley Way, Lost River, WV 26810. Enjoy a beautiful weekend in the Shenandoah with one of America’s top chefs!

Born in the Piedmont region of Italy, Roberto Donna arrived in Washington, DC at the age of 19 with almost a lifetime of cooking school education from his native Torino and throughout Europe. In 1984, he opened the highly acclaimed Galileo. The addition of his Laboratorio and Osteria had made Chef Donna's restaurant a destination for those seeking the finest in Italian cuisine. Wine Spectator called Galileo one of the “10 Best Italian Restaurants in America,” and continuously honored Chef Donna with its Grand Award of Excellence for Galileo's comprehensive wine selection. Among the many accolades bestowed upon Chef Donna, one of the most notable came in 1996 when Galileo was named one of the twenty finest Italian restaurants in the world by the President of Italy. Roberto will be resurrecting Galileo in a new location, scheduled to open in late 2009.
