Join Arcadia Fine Wine and special guest Action Wine Thursday, November 5 from 5:00pm-7:00pm for a rare opportunity to sample fine wine from the first plantings in Willamette Valley including the first Pinot Gris planted in America. The Eyrie Vineyards, founded by David and Diana Lett in 1966, is located in the Red Hills of Dundee, about 30 miles SW of Portland. It was named for the red-tailed hawks who make their home (EYE-ree) in the fir trees at the top of the first vineyard plantings. The winery is in nearby McMinnville.
In 1975, The Eyrie Vineyards produced the first American Pinot noir to compete successfully with the renowned Pinot noirs of Burgundy. (Paris, 1979; Beaune, 1980). All current vintages are estate grown and produced. Featured Eyrie Vineyards wine will include:
· 2007 Pinot Blanc · 2007 Pinot Gris · 2007 Pinot Noir · 2006 Reserve Pinot Cost: $10 per person. Space is limited. Please RSVP to erin@arcadiafinewine.com. |
