If you think that Rhone varietal wines only come from France, think again!  

According to the website “rhonerangers.org”, there are 22 grape varieties in France’s Rhone valley.  These include Roussanne, Grenache, Viognier, Syrah, Ugni Blanc, Mourvedre, and many, many more.  And, in addition to the many Rhone varietals, we can add the many blends of Rhone varietals, and the numbers keep going up!  The well-known Grenache/Syrah/Mourvedre – aka “GSM” – is one such popular blend.  This month we have selected Rhone varietals from around the world, to include France, California, Australia, and Chile.  Come see how popular and versatile these grapes are!
