A frightening tasting of Werewolf and Vampire wines just in time for Halloween. Hamptons Wines & Liquors continues its weekly tasting schedule with a holiday twist. On Saturday, October 31 at 4PM Werewolf and Vampire wines will set a scary stage for a blood curling experience with two unique wines. Straight from Transylvania, a region of horror and delicious wines, Werewolf Cabernet Sauvignon is a full bodied wine with a fine structure that supports black and red fruit flavors with typical notes of olive, chili and herbs that add complexity. This wine was awarded 87 Pts by Vinul Wine Magazine. Vampire Merlot has a thirst for cold weather and foggy afternoon. Harvested from cool-climate, coastal vineyards at the southern end of the Central Coast’s Paso Robles viticultural district. At this site, sunny summer days are tempered by daily afternoon fog rolling in off the nearby Morro Bay and Pacific Ocean. This wine has a true blood rich color, graceful fruit flavors and subtle shadings of vanilla and toast. It is carefully blended with 8% Cabernet Sauvignon for added depth and structure, as well as 8% Zinfandel, which adds a spicy note on the palate. |
