Spirit

This is a very special event showcasing the best of the Antinori Estate, Tuscany's most famous wine producing family. For six centuries and 26 generations of uninterrupted ownership, Antinori's reputation spread to the whole of Italy and then to France, Flanders, Spain and North Africa. Today Antinori is Italy's  pre-eminent wine producer, with an important presence in many regions, but their heart in still in Tuscany.

We have chosen an award winning restaurant, Pescatori, to showcase these wines coupled with very fine cuisine.

Pescatori have a new executive chef, the talented John Brodie, who worked for several years at  Imperial City, Pacific Oriental and Sri Thai – these were celebrity chef Ken Hom’s restaurants. John is now at the helm of Pescatori doing amazing things with the menu. His cuisine is assertive yet light, rustic yet elegant, and flavours come together with a twist. The theme is ‘A Tuscan Feast’ with the main course featuring Cacciucco, the fish speciality from the seaside town of Livorno which can only be made when the right combination of fish is available.

I have selected fine wines from the best Antinori production areas such as Villa Antinori; Castello della Sala, where the dreamy San Giovanni della Sala wine comes from; Peppoli Chianti Classico from the very heart of Tuscany; and from La Braccesca, where Achelo Cortona is made, currently Italy’s most successful appellation for Syrah. The event includes a glass each of four wines, canapés, three courses, service and wine commentary. This event is already selling fast, please book soon.

Salute!
