Our trip around Italy has been amazing... to say the least! We're 2/3 complete with our tour, and if you ask me, we've saved the best for last...

This month Lindsay of the Wine Smarties will take us through the Northern Region of Italy where some of the best wines of world are produced. Piedmont, Lombardy, Veneto are the major regions for a wine and food enthusiast. Literally over 100 grape varietals are grown here (another understatement) the most famous being Amarone, Nebbiolo, Barbaresco and Barolo grapes growing on steep slopes and in hidden rural pockets. Paired with the big meats, game and rich sauces the gastronomic offerings here are BIG and endless.
