Joto Sake LLC and L’Artusi restaurant are excited to host an evening featuring the unlikely pairing of some of the top sake producers in the world with one of New York’s favorite Italian chefs.  L’Artusi owner and Beverage Director Joe Campanale and Joto Sake president  Henry Sidel will welcome guests as they experience a memorable night sampling sakes and hearing stories from four visiting sake makers.  The brewers are Yasunobu Tomita, 15th generation owner of the Shiga region’s Tomita Brewery; Yoshio Fukumoto, 9th generation owner of Hyogo’s Kasumi Tsuru Brewery; Kotaro Saito, 5th generation owner of Akita’s Saiya Brewery; and Hideki Shirahata, head brewer of Yamagata’s Fuji Brewery, founded in 1778 in Yamagata.   

The meal, prepared by L’Artusi executive chef and co-owner Gabriel Thompson, will be served in L’Artusi’s private dining room and wine cellar.  This four course meal will include selections from L’Artusi’s celebrated crudo menu, as well as special pastas, meats and desserts created specifically for each sake.
