Founded in 2005, Joto Sake is known as one of the finest sake importers in the U.S. The company imports from seven small, local “jizake” breweries and distributes their sakes throughout the U.S. Joto distinguishes itself through its selective portfolio, authentic but accessible packaging, strong education program, and a passionate team.
Unlike large brewers who make their sake for the general palate, using large scale methods and ingredients, Joto’s producers use locally raised rice and rice varietals. They also use specialized techniques and brew their sake for the local cuisine and lifestyle. All of Joto’s brewers classify their sake as “shokuchushu,” or sake to be enjoyed with food.
