October 22nd Estancia Argentina will host a wine tasting presenting a brief selection of their great potential. Argentina is the perhaps most promising wine region in the world right now. Many experts agree on this, based on encouraging numbers from the exporting wineries. In fact, even during the current recession Argentina is the only foreign region that has maintained a growth rate on the US market. One of the reasons is the result of many years branding of Argentina and especially the emblematic Malbec grape around the world.
The Malbec grape is originally a French grape, but it has found perfect conditions in the desert like Argentine wine regions with plenty of sunshine and cool nights. Malbec is able to produce all kinds of wines from the velvety, easy going style to majestic and powerful wines with a lot of structure and flavors.
Estancia Argentina and the host, Anders Mygind, will present a handful of different wines and grapes to show how quality, value, and variety characterize the Argentine wine map, and present some of the most popular and successful wineries.
Anders Mygind is a resident of Miami who has a Danish background. He has traveled several times to Mendoza, and other of the wine provinces in Argentina. He lived 9 months in Argentina 2006, and spent three weeks during the harvest season at various bodegas. He has worked as a broker in Denmark, before coming to Miami with his family.
