Having recently just spent the good part of a week, swilling, sniffing, slurping & of course - spitting my way through wines in the region of Alentejo, I felt the utmost need to share some of the exciting findings with you.
The Alentejo is one of the most prestigious Portuguese wine regions, which currently sits on the crest of a wave. Benefiting from a Mediterranean, to continental climate, with a impressive mix of soils, both native / regional & international grape varieties thrive here. With eight DOC sub-regions & the Vinho Regional category, the styles of wine here, are wide ranging.
